The Academic Field Work Coordinator (AFWC) is primarily responsible for coordinating the clinical education and the doctoral residency portion of the OT Program curriculum in collaboration with the OTD Doctoral Coordinator. This is a faculty position with teaching, scholarship, advisement, and service responsibilities in addition to the administration of clinical education and doctoral experiential component/residency. This position requires significant contact with students, outside constituents, professional consortiums, and clinical education faculty at the other USAHS campuses so teaching responsibilities have been significantly reduced in order to ensure that the needs of the fieldwork program are being met.
External Requirements Candidate's Background Requirements: - Collegiate teaching experience preferred
- Experience as an AFWC and/or FWE
- Doctoral degree required
- Strong professional values with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team setting
- Promotes professionalism by modeling such behaviors inside and outside the classroom settings
- Florida Occupational Therapy Licensure
Travel: Travel is an expectation and requirement of this position. Site visits to clinical and doctoral residency locations is often required to assess the suitability of the site and to monitor student's performance.
