Programmer/Analyst


Brief Summary:

The Programmer Analyst will serve as part of the Administrative Computing team responsible for the implementation and maintenance of enterprise applications essential to the Administration of the College. Primary responsibility is to develop, implement and support Marist's business process software.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers to streamline business processes and realize efficiencies, while providing user support and excellent customer service.
  • Support a diverse environment of applications that include Oracle based applications, Argos, document imaging and extract, transform load, and visualization software.
  • Assist to resolve day-to-day production issues and manage client expectations.
  • Write programs in ARGOS to generate reports according to user specifications.
  • Design, develop, document and deploy software solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance self-service applications and the integrated portal systems.
  • Apply and test vendor delivered patches.
  • Serve on committees as assigned by upper management.
  • Share in on-call responsibilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or six years of experience in the information technology field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in using SQL required. Knowledge of JAVA, PHP, Oracle database or PL/SQL programming a plus.
  • UNIX skills and shell scripting experience preferred.
  • Exhibit diplomacy, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills a must.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner software or experience in higher education preferred.
  • Ability to work in rapidly changing technological and team-oriented environment is essential.
