Brief Summary:
The Director of Academic Affairs and Assessment is a key member of the Office of Academic Affairs who assists the Vice President for Academic Affairs in advancing policies, procedures, programs, and events promoting academic excellence at Marist College. Primary areas of responsibility include oversight of the assessment of student learning, academic events, and public relations for the office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the college-wide assessment of student learning process:
• Provides training and support to members of the Marist community on institutional assessment processes for curricular and co-curricular programs
• Is responsible for selection of assessment software and for overseeing the population and maintenance of assessment data, working closely with deans, department chairs, program directors, faculty, and the Office of Institutional Research & Planning
• Informs the VPAA and faculty on trends in student learning outcomes, both at Marist and comparator institutions. Generates reports on student learning outcome data
- Plays a leadership role in organization of major academic events, such as convocation, commencement, lectures, conferences, symposia, and faculty retreats
- Writes and edits applications, publications, reports, correspondence, announcements, and other documents related to Academic Affairs
- Creates and maintains web pages and/or social networking sites for Academic Affairs, ensuring timely, accurate, and salient information aimed at multiple constituents
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master's degree required; Doctoral/advanced degree preferred.. 3-5 years of experience in a higher education setting required. Social media and Microsoft Office Suite skills required.
