Marketing Specialist

The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist will be an important member of an exciting, innovative paid media team, focused on driving growth and student success for our flagship university. In the role, you will have access to best-in-class platforms and tools, as well as direct relationships and involvement with the latest betas and products from the industry's largest advertising partners, including Google and Facebook. The ideal candidate will be resourceful and ambitious, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, have experience in paid advertising, critical thinking & creative skills, and a passion for digital. The role will be responsible for researching, making strategic recommendations on, implementing and optimizing campaigns in pursuit of high-quality leads in support of business goals.

This person will be expected to have a strong interest in understanding the paid advertising market and acquire an intimate knowledge of the competitive landscape. Timeliness, attention to detail, analytics, and accuracy are critical to this position. This proactive individual must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to focus on both short-term objectives and long-term growth opportunities in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:
Manage the day-to-day activities and performance of paid marketing campaigns in order to secure high-quality prospective student leads in the digital space.
Be able to direct agency and partner teams and collaborate with in-house teams (product/brand, SEO, social, display, etc) in the optimization of campaigns and expansion of opportunities (audiences, keywords, content, testing) to influence customer journeys.
Ensure proper delivery of campaigns from inception, creative development, through reporting and results measurement.
Align paid strategies with university, college and/or program specific marketing plans by actively engaging with product/brand marketing teams and leadership.
Support CRO and test initiatives across consumer touchpoints, including ad copy and landing page testing, as well as impact analysis.
Actively survey competitive landscape across core audience segments, devices (especially mobile), and program offerings and make recommendations as necessary.
Manage budget and media planning in accordance with monthly, quarterly, and yearly plans.
Review and process daily lead reports, analyze campaign performance, measure against KPIs & report on any trends/insights to key stakeholders.
Proactively learn about search engine behaviors, technology, news and strategies and present key developments and discoveries with the other team members.

External Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related fields
  • 3-5 years experience in digital marketing, preferably hands-on campaign management
  • A passion for digital marketing and client/brand success
  • Experience using AdWords, DoubleClick, Facebook, or other bid management tools
  • Experience with Google Analytics 360 Suite (including attribution), Salesforce, or other optimization platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with multiple departments
  • Proven critical thinking, decision-making, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, resourceful and self-motivated with an interest in continual learning and
  • Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis), presentation (PowerPoint), or visual analytics software
  • Google AdWords and Analytics certification
  • Experience managing large budgets and lead targets a plus
  • Agency and direct response experience a plus
  • Prior work in the education industry a plus
