STAFF PHYSICIAN

Job Description: The Student Health Service Staff Physician is charged with the responsibility of providing primary health care and education for the student body of East Carolina University, which exceeds 17,000 students. This position offers primary health care services that are accessible, affordable, and of high quality to the students of the University community.

To provide preventative and medical care to students enrolled at ECU

To help create an awareness of the general and special services offered by the SHS

To provide teaching and education regarding specific health conditions

To serve as advisor or member to University health related committees

To participate in review and evaluation of programs and policies of the SHS

To provide clinical supervision for the physician extenders, nursing, pharmacy, and laboratory personnel and their quality of work

Seeking applications for twelve month Staff Physician position but will considered hiring as a nine month appointment.


Minimum Qualifications: Be duly licensed by the State of North Carolina

Be board certified or board eligible

Have an operable DEA number

Provide evidence of License and DEA number to the Credentialing Committee upon each renewal

Renew clinical privileges every two years

Remain eligible for malpractice insurance during the duration of employment

Maintain CME requirements set forth by the NC BME
