POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Materials Processing Center (MPC), to join a research team that aims to develop a new generation of fertilizers starting from local and inexpensive geological resources with the ultimate goal of addressing food security in tropical countries. The research is multidisciplinary and involves geology, chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering. Will be expected to contribute proactively to devising and optimizing processing technologies to synthesize potassium fertilizers from the mineral K feldspar. Mineral processing will involve mainly hydrothermal autoclaved experiments.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or closely associated discipline; a demonstrated track record of performing laboratory work and data interpretation; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience with complex experimental setups (e.g., autoclaves, distillation columns, etc.); experience with analytical techniques and materials characterization (e.g., SEM, FT IR, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC, HPLC). Seek a highly motivated and goal-oriented team player who is willing to work in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Industrial, international, and technology scale-up experience preferred. Job #14251
