Front End Developer

TWO POSITIONS WILL BE FILLED FROM THIS RECRUITMENT

The JavaScript UI developer creates wireframes, mockups, and paper prototypes to fully develop an understanding of the end user's workflows and interactions. The developer then works with the web application developers to create the entire web stack, including user interface, for that product. This Front End Developer must be capable of hand-coding all work. All projects will be responsive web development.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Considerable knowledge of web application development and deployment, including software development lifecycle. Considerable knowledge of the practices, policies and procedures used in building highly interactive and visually appealing web application interfaces using hand-coded JavaScript. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to hand-code using HTML5, CSS3, and AJAX .

Education or training

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in building JavaScript web applications. Considerable experience with interface design. Considerable experience in designing interface for web-based systems and back-end integration. Some experience in learning technology development and deployment, including software development lifecycle.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Considerable knowledge of user interface design and web best practices. Considerable knowledge of cross-browser compatible UI development. Considerable knowledge of best practices in Interaction design, responsive design, mobile/tablet UI UX, accessibility, 508 Compliance, and WCAG 2.0. Some knowledge of JS libraries (e.g., jQuery, Backbone, Angular, Underscore, D3, Raphael). Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to use AngularJS, EmberJS, Express for front-end JavaScript development. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems & Technology or in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Some experience coding and deploying responsive designs. Some back-end programming experience with Node.js.

Conditions of Employment
