TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL)-Age Lab, to support the ongoing development, installation, and maintenance of data acquisition equipment for human subject data collection in laboratory, simulation, field, and naturalistic experiments. Responsibilities will include the maintenance of a driving simulator and other experimental equipment (including sourcing parts, coordinating subcontractors, and developing instrumentation documentation), the development of new experimental devices necessary to support studies (hardware and software), and the integration of experimental protocols into data collection architectures. Responsibilities may also include vehicle testing (e.g., assessment of technological features including autonomous driving capabilities), documentation of vehicle capabilities, assisting with vehicle procurement, and occasionally working with participants through experimental protocols and technology demonstrations. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the data analysis needs of senior research staff, writing technical documentation, creating and executing experimental plans, and contributing to general laboratory discussions.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in psychology, engineering, computer science, or related field; at least two-semesters of psychology, human factors, or human centered interface (HCI) classes; experience or ability to learn programming in languages such as JavaScript and C++; and experience with and willingness to work as part of a team and to learn new tools and skills. The following skills/experience is preferred: familiarity with Linux; exceptional oral and written communication skills; experience with basic statistics and statistical software such as SPSS or R, computer vision and machine learning, and embedded hardware or micro-controller development; and at least two years' experience with programming languages and developing code that processes and organizes data stored in a relational database (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
