The University of St. Augustine will be launching a new, fully online program that also offers campus-based experiences to speech & language pathology leaders and educators. We are seeking a full-time faculty member who is a Speech and Language Pathology Educator to join our community of health science professionals.

The Role

Founding Program Director will assist in planning, development and implementation of Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. In collaboration with Dean and faculty, the Program Director assures delivery of the curriculum in a manner that meets program goals, learning outcomes, consistency, and institutional expectations. The Program Director works with the accreditation team and leads programmatic accreditation to assure all standards are met and reports are appropriately filed. Works closely with the Dean and other Program Directors and/or faculty on revisions of program policies, admissions, academic progress and graduation competencies. The Director is accountable for strategic plan initiatives concerning the program, as well integrating with other departments and programs to resolve student and faculty issues and promote assessment of educational effectiveness. Program directors serve as an important conduit connecting the program with other University departments, communicating information and contributing to the growth and improvement of the institution. Working with other departments, the PD will assist in the planning and implementation of a clinic and associated clinical education resources, per accreditation standards.

External Requirements
Candidate's Background Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Doctorate (PhD) in Speech - Language Pathology.

Current clinical certification in speech-language pathology from the American Speech - Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), at least 5 years' experience teaching in the field of Speech - Language Pathology, have earned a rank of Associate Professor or Professor and At least three years' experience as a chairperson or program director of a CAA accredited program in Speech - Language Pathology.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience interpreting and managing complex accreditation or related processes relevant to regional, and teacher education standards, and assessment processes through which successful outcomes are consistently attained. Must have Expertise in normal and disordered voice production, language and literacy, speech science, social language disorder, multicultural issues, prelinguistic developmental delay, aural rehabilitation , and/or deaf education.
