Assistant/Associate Director, Annual Giving


Brief Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant/Associate Director will work closely with the Assistant/Associate Director plans and executes strategies to successfully achieve the goals of the Marist Fund's Parents and Campus campaigns and provides leadership and oversight for Marist's active Parents Council. The Assistant/Associate Director also oversees reunion giving initiatives and all aspects of the New Student Welcome and Parents Leadership receptions/events. He or she actively maintains a prospect portfolio and personally solicits individuals for unrestricted annual support of the Marist Fund.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a portfolio of 70+ prospects; visits and solicits 35+ annually
  • Provides leadership in the recruitment of parents to the Parents Council; strategically manages Parents Council programming and engagement
  • Plans and executes the Marist Fund's Parent and Campus campaigns which includes direct mail, personal solicitations, social and electronic media outreach, and recognition
  • In collaboration with advancement leadership, plans and executes all aspects of the summer student welcome receptions in, but not limited to: Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, and California
  • Identify potential new prospects for cultivation and solicitations
  • Utilize social media and emerging technology platforms to inform and engage assigned constituencies to advance the goals of the Marist Fund
  • Provide strategic analysis of annual giving results of assigned constituents
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Marist Fund team
  • Stays current with reunion giving and parents programming trends and implements strategies utilizing industry best practices
  • Support events and activities as a member of the alumni/development team


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience in fundraising is required; experience in higher education strongly preferred. Demonstrated working knowledge of industry best practices for annual giving. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a high-performing team are essential. Ability and commitment to travel and attend evening and weekend events as required.
