FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $10.00-$14.00 per hour.

Job Summary: The Study Hall Monitor supervises student-athletes in a study hall situation and monitors the study hall environment.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Supervises student-athletes in a study hall environment. Maintains the appropriate study hall environment by enforcing study hall rules and guidelines. Communicates aims/objectives to students in a well-planned, organized, and concise manner.

Takes the necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Conducts oneself in a professional manner in all aspects of their relationship with the student-athletes. Submits nightly study hall reports, tracking student-athlete attendance, facility issues, and/or concerns to AASO staff members.

Understands that compliance is a critical element of this position and adheres to the NCAA, Big 12 and university rules, regulations, and policies. Informs AASO staff members of the atmosphere of study hall and any potential problems. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
  • Demonstrated interest in students and education.
  • Experience working with large numbers of students.
  • Experience working with a diverse population within education or related field.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic office techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic customer service techniques.
  • Skill in effective written and verbal communications.


Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.


Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of various use groups and student-athletes.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
