Job Description
As an Associate/Full Professor of Economics you will teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable; be involved in course and/or curriculum development; research/scholarship; participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.

Required Qualifications
Earned Doctorate in Economics from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
Candidates must show evidence of successful teaching, research, and service sufficient to warrant appointment at the rank of Associate Professor within the Lutgert College of Business.
Research output must include a focus on Free Enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an established research stream as evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals consistent with appointment at the rank of Full Professor, and at least five years of teaching experience in an AACSB International accredited business school.
Involvement in national organizations with an emphasis on Free Enterprise is a significant benefit.
Experience with community outreach and planning of events that engage the community with the institution is also desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.

Essential Job Duties
The teaching load for this position is up to three courses per semester; five courses per academic year.
The teaching assignment will include a combination of graduate and undergraduate economics courses.
The teaching assignment will include at least one section of The Moral Foundations of Capitalism.
The holder of this position will be expected to produce scholarship consistent with the LCOB's standard for the faculty classification of Scholarly Academic and provide service to the Department and College.
The holder of this position will coordinate the delivery of the BB&T Free Enterprise Lecture series.
