Job Description
Qualified counselor educators are sought to teach didactic content courses and to supervise field experiences in school and/ or mental health counseling. The programs have a variety of courses including introduction to each profession, development, career counseling, legal and ethical issues, appraisal methods, addictions, group counseling, psychodiagnosis, multicultural counseling, consultation, research methods, administration/supervision as well as a series of sequentially complex field experiences.

Required Qualifications
Qualified counselor educators are sought to teach didactic content courses and to supervise field experiences in school and/ or mental health counseling. The programs have a variety of courses including introduction to each profession, development, career counseling, legal and ethical issues, appraisal methods, addictions, group counseling, psychodiagnosis, multicultural counseling, consultation, research methods, administration/supervision as well as a series of sequentially complex field experiences.
For didactic/content courses faculty must have a doctorate in counseling or a related field to the course area being taught.
To supervise field experiences faculty must have at least a master's degree in counseling (closely related fields will be considered with appropriate experience) and hold the credential for the specialty being supervised (certification as a school counselor for school counseling and licensure for clinical mental health counseling.
All candidates must have at least two years of experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching at the University or graduate level, supervision experience, and experience in the counseling profession. Graduates from CACREP accredited programs will be given preference. Experience with on-line learning management systems like Canvas or Blackboard as well as instruction/ supervision experiences that use active learning in online and face to face classrooms is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience in teaching and delivering content that tightly integrates lecture materials with a meaningful applied experience. Ability to develop and assess students in content and field experience courses with prior knowledge of accreditation and/ Florida DOE standards. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning.

Salary Range
$2,750 per three credit hour course

Essential Job Duties
Qualified counselor educators are sought to teach didactic content courses and to supervise field experiences. Develop syllabi in accordance with department standards, provide primary instruction and evaluation of students against department and accreditation standards, supervise field experiences, provide formative feedback and summative evaluation, participate in student review activities, enter grades and assessments in the Livetext system in a timely way.
