Job Description
As the Nursing, Assistant Professor you will teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels as applicable; be involved in course and/or curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. Expectations for scholarship will be those expected for rank as identified in FPED and College documents. Service to the School, College and University is expected in the form of committees, accreditation and recruitment activities/initiatives. Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; produce peer reviewed scholarship; and provide service to the School, College, University and Community. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region.

Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
Completion of a graduate program with specialization in an area of nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Track record of nursing practice experience.
Teaching experience in nursing education.
Unrestricted ARNP or RN licensure or eligibility for unrestricted licensure in the State of Florida.
ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2017. If successful candidate is ABD , appointment will be made at the Instructor I level on a fixed contract.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
Certified FNP from a nationally accredited graduate nursing program with nursing experience in the ARNP role and unrestricted ARNP licensure (or eligibility for) in the State of Florida.
Record of teaching and scholarship leading to professional presentations, research, and/or publications.
Experience as a faculty member in a nursing education program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication skills and computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
Experience in the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching.
Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.
