Principal Research Scientist

Job Description:
PRINCIPAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST, MIT Center for Information Systems Research (MIT CISR), to address the real world business challenges that large companies face as they compete in the digital age. Will conduct rigorous research to support the dynamic needs of executives at complex and information-intensive firms; take part in an exceptional global ecosystem of academics, practitioners, and students; support the center's business model through interactive sessions at events with the sponsors and patrons who fund CISR's research; and partner with CIOs and other senior leaders at established companies to define evidence-based frameworks that are practical and applicable to specific business needs. Responsibilities include delivering impact and value through exceptionally high quality research and sponsor/patron interactions; leading at least two research projects annually; publishing findings via internal and external channels; running occasional MBA sessions, executive education and workshops, with senior leaders; and engaging in sponsor and patron recruitment and retention activities.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: a Ph.D; significant postdoctoral experience in an academic or business context; strong business acumen drawn from relationships with executives at large firms, especially digital and technology leaders; and exceptional communication and facilitation skills. Seek a visionary researcher who displays a track record of producing ground breaking research. Must be able to demonstrate high credibility with MIT CISR's ecosystem of researchers and executives.
