Executive Director, Center for Advanced Urbanism (CAU)



EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Center for Advanced Urbanism (CAU), to create and execute a plan to secure significant funds from corporations, cities, foundations, and individuals to support current and future CAU initiatives. Will work in collaboration with the faculty codirectors to help shape initiatives/projects and discuss potential and appropriate partners; work diligently to build and reinforce CAU's reputation nationally and internationally by articulating its faculty research accomplishments in media appearances, conferences, seminars, forums, and other public speaking opportunities; develop and manage relationships with external advisory boards; work with membership manager to steward special initiatives, membership agreements, and fund-raising efforts; and collaborate and communicate effectively with staff and affiliated faculty.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a master's degree or its equivalent in urban planning, architecture, or relevant field of study; at least five years of direct experience; evidence of fund-raising success; excellent analytical, financial, problem solving, listening, writing, and communication skills. Seek a strategic thinker with strong program management skills who has the proven ability to understand, communicate, and present complex technical information to a wide variety of audiences. Must be an innovative and visionary thinker who exhibits a collaborative working style, cooperative spirit, and the ability to work with a diverse community. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following environments: academic, research, foundation, or nonprofit. Job #13640
