Postdoctoral Associate



POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Center for Biomedical Innovation (CBI), to join an academia-industry team led by Professor Tony Sinskey that is developing new processes for viral vaccine manufacturing. Will design and execute experiments to develop and optimize upstream processes for cell growth, infection, and virus harvest; and analyze and characterize cell culture processes using Nova BioProfile Analyzer and HPLC. This position involves close collaboration with academic and industrial partners and will require the preparation of regular progress reports to industry sponsors.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in biochemical or chemical engineering, biological sciences, virology, or related field; experience with the growth of mammalian or insect cells and virus in small-scale vessels and bioreactors; in-depth understanding of bioreactor set-up, operation, and maintenance; experience with analysis of cell culture medium components using HPLC and Nova BioProfile analyzer or similar instrument; ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop and execute detailed technical protocols; good written and oral communication skills; excellent documentation skills; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
