Postdoctoral Associate, Senseable City Lab

Job Description:
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Urban Studies and Planning-Senseable City Lab (SCL), to orchestrate the lab's expanding portfolio of digital technologies and urban planning. Responsibilities include publishing, presenting, and disseminating research to the global community; collaborating with lab leadership and stakeholders to develop its future vision and research agenda; leading multidisciplinary research teams and liaising between individual researchers and MIT's leadership; working closely with private and government research sponsors to acquire future projects and prepare proposals, budgets, and contracts; and organizing the annual SCL research conference. Will report to the lab's director and associate director.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in urban studies and/or computer science, with an understanding of interaction design, sensor technologies, and data analytics and its applications to urban planning. Other acceptable fields include engineering, architecture, and urban social sciences. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills required. Must have a proven track record of leadership, independent research, and research management. Seek someone who thrives in diverse, team-oriented environments. Job #12459
