Lecturer

Working at MIT offers opportunities, an environment, a culture - and benefits - that just aren't found together anywhere else. If you're curious, motivated, want to be part of a unique community, and help shape the future - then take a look at this opportunity.

LECTURER, Program in Art, Culture and Technology (ACT), to teach introductory and advanced foundational courses in contemporary art. Will also contribute to developing the activities, educational structure, and methodologies of the Program in Art, Culture and Technology, including the expansion of the master's degree program and the development of a transdisciplinary bachelor's degree.

MIT's Program in Art, Culture and Technology explores art--in its broad, complex and global history and in its contemporary forms--in conjunction with its relations to culture, science, technology, and design. This investigation occurs in ACT's academic offerings and public programs and is buttressed by the research of faculty, fellows, and guests of ACT. The faculty is composed of highly renowned artists with active, international careers in artistic production and a strong interest in cross-discipline debate and modes of production. MIT students are diverse, intellectually gifted, and highly motivated.

ACT is uniquely positioned under the aegis of the School of Architecture and Planning and within the Department of Architecture. This structure provides ample opportunity to explore collaborative relationships and create links with a variety of disciplines.
