Full Time Faculty International School of Business

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Kendall College currently seeks Full-Time Faculty to teach a variety of business courses. Preferred candidates will be able to teach leadership, strategy, operations, and other related business management courses at the undergraduate level. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

Faculty are expected to teach and inspire a culturally and linguistically diverse student population as evidenced by outstanding student teaching evaluations. Demonstrated capacity to use a diverse range of effective and new technology based strategies as well as openness to adopting new practices is expected. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to innovative delivery of instruction and career objectives consistent with Kendall College International School of Business mission. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate experience and/or willingness to work with recruiting, and to participate in the administrative responsibilities of an academic unit, including, but not limited to, assessment, faculty development, new program initiatives, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Knowledge and skills relevant to face-to-face and online course development and delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Teaching courses as assigned per the Program Director and coordinators.
  • Development of coursework, in accord with the school dean, updating course materials to keep courses at the leading edge of knowledge in the disciplines.
  • Providing student support for every aspect of learning in the form of office hours, tutorial assistance, coaching and career and academic assistance and advice.
  • Participation in faculty development initiatives and cross school projects.
  • Attendance at key school events such as Blackboard training, learning assessment meetings, all school meetings, etc. as available and appropriate.
  • Any other assistance deemed appropriate to promote the School of Business or to maintain its teaching delivery at the highest level of quality.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Some international travel may be required.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Faculty Members may be required to chair and/or participate on committees. Some Faculty Members are also involved in supervising course development. Faculty Members may be asked to serve on faculty governance or academic policy committees, and, in general, participate in other ways to strengthen the academic reputation of Kendall College.

External Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Three to five years of teaching experience at the degree level of the program is preferred
  • Earned doctorate in the field of business or closely related.
  • Should be able to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Candidates should possess a significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field of business, including experience in the field.
  • Teaching, advising and mentoring; commitment to the promotion of applied research and the recruitment and development of a diverse faculty; excellent leadership, communication, team, and human relations skills.
  • Experience with distance learning preferred.
  • Some travel required (international and minimal).


LICENSURE and/or CERTIFICATION

Faculty Members must be appropriately credentialed, possess an earned degree in the discipline being taught, and may be expected to be licensed or license-eligible in order to teach in specific programs. Faculty Members must maintain their licenses and any appropriate certifications in order to continue to teach at Kendall College. Faculty Members are also expected to maintain currency with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations. If participating in research, the Faculty Member may publish and acknowledge Kendall College.
