Clinical Practice Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Kendall College is currently seeking a part-time Clinical Practice Supervisor for our Early Childhood Education program. This position is responsible for providing organizational support to the administration of the Kendall College. This position will be located at Kendall College in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage daily duties and responsibilities in accordance with the School of Education (SoE) Handbook
  • Interface with all aspects of the School of Education (Dean, faculty, staff)
  • Coordinate the Clinical Practice process for SoE students
  • Monitor student Clinical Practice application process
  • Transfer and maintain Clinical Practice information from application (Zoomerang) to database
  • Interface with School of Education Certification Officer to confirm candidate eligibility for Clinical Practice
  • Interface with SoE staff to monitor and track student progress
  • Collect and maintain all clinical practice evaluations from cooperating teachers and university supervisors
  • Submit clinical practice grades
  • Submit all clinical practice expense reports at the conclusion of the term
  • Maintain communication with candidate throughout entire Clinical Practice process
  • Attend School of Education meetings as scheduled to report Clinical Practice information/results
  • Other duties as assigned by Dean of the School of Education

SUCCESS INDICATORS:
  • Greater retention of cooperating teachers and university supervisors
  • Expanded pool of cooperating sites
  • Earlier placement of teacher candidates for clinical practice

External Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • An earned Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with a focus on the primary years, K-3
  • Minimum of five years as a classroom teacher
  • Current Type 03 or Type 04 Illinois Certification or the equivalent in another state
  • Experience with mentoring pre-service or in-service teachers
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills
  • Must be motivated, flexible, independent, and a self-starter
  • Results driven
