Postdoctoral Associate

Position Summary:
Postdoctoral Associate that provides expertise in the area of horticultural crop production, environmental analytical chemistry and water quantity/quality management.
Assist with multiple tasks that include, but are not limited to:
-Hydrological and contaminant fate analysis of runoff/leachate from experimental nursery
-Water treatment technology deployment
-Characterization of water quality/quantity management strategies
-Research plot and on-farm water sampling
-Sample analysis and quality assurance including aqueous sample cataloging, filtration, electrochemical characterization, dilution and digestion using ion chromatograph or flow injection analysis Systems
-Containerized crop production or ornamental crops
-Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task

Required Qualifications:
PhD. in Biological Sciences or related field.
-Good communication skills.
-Computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, JMP )

Preferred Qualifications:
Horticultural, Agricultural Engineering or Agronomy Field Experience
-Experience in experimental design, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation and submission
-Laboratory or analytical experience
-Experience with Dionex or Lachat equipment/software
-Strong organizational skills to coordinate researchers and undergraduate and graduate level students.
-Experience with dataloggers, environmental sensors or remote sensing software and hardware
-Experience with hydrological and chemical equilibrium freeware (e.g. HYDRUS )
