TEACHING ASSOC PROF/TEACHING ASST PROF/TEACHING PROF

Job Description: The Department of Special Education, Foundations, and Research in the College of Education at East Carolina University seeks applicants for a nine-month, full-time faculty position in Educational Foundations, available as soon as August, 2017 for the current and upcoming academic years. The College seeks scholars with expertise in the cultural, historical, and sociological foundations of education, particularly as they apply to the experiences of minority populations in U.S. schools and multicultural education. The person hired for this position will be instrumental in helping pre-service and in-service teachers in our teacher education programs develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to teach and advocate for the growing diversity of learners in North Carolina's public schools. Salary/rank: Teaching Assistant Professor; commensurate with qualifications.

Responsibilities include: teaching (primarily undergraduate) foundations courses (Introduction to American Education, Introduction to Diversity, and Learning, Motivation, and Assessment) in both face-to-face and online environments; conducting an active research/publication agenda; and providing service to the department, university, community, and profession.


Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Educational Foundations (or related area, e.g. General Education; Educational Leadership and Administration; or Curriculum and Instruction; or, possibly, Educational Psychology). All degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.
