Job Description: East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full-time faculty positions in the Doctor of Nursing Practice, Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) options.
These positions are advertised as a 12 month fixed-term or tenure-track appointment at the title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher for tenure-track and Clinical Assistant Professor for fixed-term.

This concentration is taught in an online, distance education delivery format.

The curriculum prepares graduates who are advanced practice nurses in primary or chronic care. Rated within the top 25 online programs in the country by US News and World Report for online graduate education, the College of Nursing has over 500 graduate students and is a front-runner in preparing nurses to assume advanced practice nursing roles as nurse leaders in increasingly complex healthcare systems.

Responsibilities include:

Teaching in the DNP program including the BSN to DNP, AGPCNP and FNP, Post Masters DNP options, assisting with clinical evaluation (site visits), clinical placement, academic advising, and coordination of online students, development and evaluation of relevant courses, participating in DNP Projects, and scholarship related to advanced nursing practice and other duties as assigned by program director.
Attendance at on-campus faculty meetings is expected for a full time faculty.


Minimum Qualifications: A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.

Three years of advanced practice clinical experience.

Approval to practice as a nurse practitioner in North Carolina upon employment.

National certification as an AGPCNP, ANP, FNP, or CRNA and relevant nurse practitioner clinical precepting and teaching experience are required.

Master's degree in Nursing required along with terminal degree (DNP, PhD, or related terminal degree) or evidence of completion of terminal degree within 1 semester of hire.

Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
