INTERNAL MEDICINE - - PULMONARY/CRITICAL CARE INTENSIVIST

Job Description: The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at East Carolina University seeks pulmonary, critical care, neurocritical care specialists to join our academic group at a rank commensurate with qualifications; tenure track or fixed-term appointments available.

These are flexible positions which allow for participation in academic, research and clinical pursuits.

The Division is clinical productive, highly respected and actively involved in the training of medical students, residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows through our affiliation with a single 909-bed tertiary care hospital.

We have an active outpatient pulmonary and sleep practice, in-patient consult service and interventional bronchoscopy capability include EBUS and navigational bronchoscopy.

Our facility provides service to patients in the MICU, CVICU and NICU.

Our fellowship training program has expanded from four to sixteen fellows.

Division expansion is driven by growth of the medical complex and added emphasis on translational research, including a large clinical base and a lung biology group.

The Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. VMC is a level I trauma center and has been ranked one of the top 50 teaching hospitals in the United States.


Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO from a properly accredited institution is required.

ABIM Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine, and/or Neurocritical Care.

ABIM certified internists with formal Neurocritical Care training will be considered as well as ABEM certified physicians with formal ABIM critical care training.
