AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Job Description: The Affirmative Action Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities related to the university's affirmative action programs, policies, and procedures. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities:

Compliance:

Coordinate annual policy and program updates of the affirmative action plan in collaboration with Human Resources, the Office of Academic Affairs Personnel Administration, the Division of Health Sciences and other institutional partners

Work collaboratively with the Equity and Diversity Data Analyst to assess the effectiveness of action-oriented programs designed to address underutilization by disseminating assessment tool, collecting responses, and reporting summary of results

Collect and review data reports to identify areas of focus to address EEO Plan goals in collaboration with the Equity and Diversity Data Analyst
Research and prepare information for unit-specific affirmative action plans; and coordinate efforts with key partners, including follow-up regarding implementation, assessment of efforts, and tracking efforts/results

Coordinate collection of needed information and conduct assessment of effectiveness of outreach and recruitment efforts

Provide support to the university's affirmative action and EEO compliance workgroups and committees by coordinating meetings, disseminating communication, and assisting with development of presentations

Provide assistance with policy, procedure, or program research, including data research to identify pipeline data

Manage the PeopleAdmin applicant tracking system by reviewing and approving EEO compliance documentation and/or system actions to assess EEO procedural compliance in recruitment and selection; initially address issues of EEO procedural non-compliance; and directly interface with faculty, administrator, and other staff search committees and hiring authorities

Coordinate and conduct random desk audits to assess EEO procedural compliance

Assist with increasing awareness around areas with EEO Plan goals and provide recruitment and outreach strategies directly to search committees for related positions

Provide relevant guidance and consultation to search committees and personnel representatives regarding appropriate recruitment processes and procedures based on unit's specific situation

Maintain database to document compliance guidance provided, assess and identify patterns of non-compliance, and recommend process to reduce instances of non-compliance

Provide advice and guidance about appropriate use of codes and statuses in PeopleAdmin applicant tracking system to ensure accurate applicant data

Training and Awareness:

Research and develop education and awareness materials

Develop and deliver face-to-face EEO recruitment procedure compliance education for search committees and hiring officials as needed or requested

Coordinate logistics, communication, and planning of affirmative action briefings; work collaboratively with the Equity and Diversity Data Analyst to assess the effectiveness of the program by disseminating assessment tool, collecting responses, and reporting summary of results

Prepare materials for EEO training and presentations; coordinate dissemination of affirmative action information

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships

Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution in education, business, psychology, or a related field and one year of related experience OR Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of related experience. Demonstrated understanding of civil rights and EEO laws and the legal underpinnings of affirmative action. Evidence of strong organizational and administrative skills. Evidence of excellent written communication and human relations/interpersonal skills.
