PHYSICAL THERAPY - CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR (FACULTY POSITION)

Job Description: The Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure-track position at the Clinical Instructor level.

The clinical instructor will join the department's growing outpatient PT Clinic, providing evidenced-based clinical care using cutting edge technology and advanced treatment regimens.

This faculty member will be expected to maintain a full patient caseload and have an interest in working with individuals with primarily general musculoskeletal and neuromuscular pathologies.

The physical therapy faculty practice encourages therapists to develop and grow in areas of interest/expertise.

The physical therapy department enjoys excellent relationships with providers in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Teaching opportunities in the entry-level doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program are also available depending on the instructor's level of interest and expertise. Additionally, this position will include a supervisory role in our Student Run Clinic, which provides no-cost PT services to underserved individuals.

East Carolina University, the third largest university in the state (~30,000 students), is a constituent of the UNC system. The College of Allied Health Sciences, which graduates the most allied health students in the state, is an integral part of a vibrant health sciences campus including the Brody School of Medicine, the School of Dental Medicine, the College of Nursing, the East Carolina Heart Institute, East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute, and Vidant Medical Center, the regional medical center serving 29 counties. In addition to established collaborations with these health sciences entities, the department also has established collaborations with the College of Health and Human Performance and the College of Engineering and Technology. ECU is in proximity to Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy bases and is home to both Army and ROTC organizations.

ECU is located in Greenville, North Carolina (population ~91,000). Located approximately 1 hours from the capital city of Raleigh, Greenville is the cultural, educational, medical, and economic center of eastern North Carolina. It is also within driving distance (4 - 5 hours) to the Appalachian Mountains and approximately 80 miles to the ocean.


Minimum Qualifications: DPT or equivalent from a CAPTE accredited program, and eligible for PT licensure in NC.
