Job Description: The Department of Surgery is seeking a general surgeon to join our active, collaborative clinical program.

Candidate must provide classroom instruction in general surgery for medical students, and appropriate training and supervision for house staff.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Tenure track or fixed term position available to the rank/title of Assistant Professor or higher.


Minimum Qualifications: MD from an an appropriately accredited institution required, and full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in NC.

Board certified or board eligible in general surgery. Candidate must have a strong interest in academics and research.

Outstanding clinical skills,

documented research productivity and/or documented excellence in teaching and education
