INSTRUCTIONAL CONSULTANT, LEAD COORDINATOR

Job Description: The College of Education is seeking a dynamic lead coordinator as part of a team to lead the Advising Center within the college. The Lead Coordinator of the Center provides leadership inside the college and works collaboratively with others outside the college to facilitate recruitment of majors to the college, provide high quality advisement, track student program progression; and enhance student retention and success.

The successful lead coordinator will:
1. Manage the work of the Center to optimize student service, ensure accurate advising; and implement recruitment and retention activities;
2. Manage multiple budgets to maximize resources to finance events that recruit and retain students, and engage faculty;
3. Possess a strong understanding of educator preparation degree programs, licensure requirements, testing requirements, internship, and practica coursework within the College of Education
4. Use data to drive decision making for process improvement, to optimize service delivery, and to increase retention;
5. Facilitate advising activities for the large volume of undergraduate and post-BA level students in the college;
6. Have experience supervising professional advisors, staff, graduate and undergraduate student workers to ensure effective and efficient operations within the Center;
7. Possess an understanding of student recruitment and retention issues and utilize data to enhance student retention within the college;
8. Engage in new initiatives/strategies to increase student retention and student success in the college;
9. Engage collaboratively with department chairs and faculty within the college to enhance student understanding of their program admission and degree completion requirements;
10. Work as part of the support teams within and external to the College of Education to provide a high level of service to students.


Minimum Qualifications: Requires master's degree in a related field (Education, Counseling, Psychology, etc.). Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions. At least three years of successful experience in an institution of higher education.
