Two Assistant Professor Tenure-Track Positions to Begin January 2011

Chartered in 1785, The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, is a Carnegie Research Extensive University and the state s flagship institution of higher education. The School of Social Work at the University of Georgia has been providing professional social work education since 1964 and has graduated more than 4,500 students across its three degree programs. The School is nationally and internationally known for excellence in research and teaching, international programs and its commitment to social justice.

Requirements for positions include a doctorate in social work or closely related field and an M.S.W. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research capacity and the potential to generate external research funding. In addition, the school is seeking individuals with a willingness to teach across the B.S.W. and M.S.W. programs. Previous experience or interest with online teaching is desired. The University of Georgia School of Social Work is committed to having a diverse faculty culture. Salary is commensurate with record of achievements and rank. Responsibilities include: scholarship, teaching, field liaison and public service. Two years post-master s practice experience required.

1. The first position focuses on teaching across the learning environment in our M.S.W. program, including our part-time, evening M.S.W. program with non-traditional students. Teaching areas of particular interest include foundation and clinical content with a mental health and/or health focus.

2. The School is developing an M.S.W./M.P.H. degree program with the College of Public Health. The second position requires expertise in the area of mental health and/or health. Teaching areas of particular interest include foundation and community empowerment and program development content.

Candidates with a strong interest in teaching advanced clinical content including family assessment and intervention or health social work including macro practice are encouraged to apply.
