Senior Legal and Compliance Analyst

SENIOR LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE ANALYST, MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo) , to manage key processes in support of MITIMCo's Cambridge Real Estate team. Will oversee construction and design contracting efforts across MITIMCo's portfolio; handle risk management matters, including the review and coordination of insurance matters and related indemnities in design, construction, and consultant contracts; provide legal support for the design and construction efforts of MITIMCo's development and asset management teams; review consultant contracts, spot key legal issues, and manage the contracting process; manage the efforts of outside counsel; devise and implement strategies for identifying and processing large volumes of documents/information; coordinate/manage paper and electronic document collection, review, and production; assist with the preparation of materials for real estate transactions and consultant contracts; and other special projects as assigned.

MITIMCo manages over $18 billion for the Institute's endowment, retirement plan, and other pools of capital and approximately $2 billion in Cambridge real estate holdings on a gross value basis. The Cambridge Real Estate Group develops and maintains a high profile, complex, and dynamic real estate portfolio.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : bachelor's degree and ten years' experience assisting busy lawyers and business teams or a J.D. degree and five years' experience with complex real estate and contracting legal matters, specifically in an in-house legal office or a law firm; advanced-level problem solving skills for resolving ambiguous, complex, and multi-variable issues; excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to prioritize completing needs and manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, respond to different constituencies with differing focuses, and adjust to shifting priorities; keen judgment; and strong Microsoft Office skills.
