PLUMBER, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance (R&M) , to install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot a full range of plumbing systems including domestic water and drain systems. Will install, maintain, and repair complete plumbing systems including air, gas, and vacuum systems; service, inspect, and repair back flow preventers, sanitary fixtures, and heating units; operate power tools, sewer cleaning machines, hand tools, and plumbing equipment; replace seals in water closets; clean water filter systems; unplug sinks, toilets, and drains; maintain piping and related systems to ensure equipment is in proper working order; and respond to emergency mechanical system calls, including floods. Emphasis of workload is preventative maintenance.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; Massachusetts' state plumbing and journeyman's licenses; at least five years' experience working with a MA plumbing license; and a valid driver's license. Must be able to work from blueprints, specifications, verbal instruction, or sketches; receive work order assignments, order materials, complete tasks accurately, provide updates, and written comments upon completion; work with minimal supervision; locate, diagnose, and correct defects/malfunctions on a variety of plumbing systems; and lift up to 50 lbs. Will perform all duties in accordance with applicable standards/requirements of the Massachusetts' state plumbing license and/or established compliance requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. May be required to obtain Massachusetts' back flow preventer license. Job #17043


Working conditions: ascending/descending stairs, traversing the campus, moving about the jobsite and machinery to access equipment and/or remaining stationary for extended periods; work from ladders, scaffolds and other above ground locations; use of scissor lifts, articulating lifts, and bucket trucks; use of personal protective equipment; dust, odors, fumes, high levels of noise, and temperature extremes; working near steam and moving machinery and in tight areas and confined spaces, e.g., manholes and crawl spaces; working with and around chemicals/solvents; working in research labs and animal facilities; working in outdoors in inclement weather.

The schedule for the position is Monday to Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
