MANAGING EDITOR, MIT Press , to incorporate input from researchers and feedback on the DCI's (MIT's Digital Currency Initiative) Cryptocurrency Research Review to create a journal that publishes reviews of cryptocurrency and blockchain research and peer-reviewed research papers. Will facilitate decisions regarding which papers to review, solicit articles, and coordinate the editorial operation for a new pre-print server and journal in cryptocurrency research; and uphold and promote the policies of the journal's owner/publisher along with editorial decision-makers, journal board members, authors, reviewers, cryptocurrency community practitioners, other contributors, and members of the journal's reading public. In addition to community building, peer review, and production oversight, responsibilities will include coordinating decision-making process among associate editors and editors-in-chief; informing and remind editors-in-chief of publisher's policies, requirements, and deadlines; providing editors-in-chief with periodic progress reports, performance statistics, and recommendations; answering e-correspondence; working with journal contributors and the technology team to resolve any issues with the journal's website; and working with the EIC and associate editors to identify potential new contributors and coordinate outreach.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : B.A./B.S.; demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the cryptocurrency space including terminology and key and emerging topics; community building skills; familiarity with academic practice; strong English verbal and written business communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; excellent critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills; attention-to-detail; and the ability to multitask, prioritize multiple projects, manage time to meet deadlines, work under pressure, build internal and external relationships, and function both independently and as part of a team.
