About the Position:

We are seeking an exceptional individual who possesses versatility and a high level of confidentiality to join our team as a Common Human Resources System Project Specialist (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Non-Exempt). The Common Human Resources System (CHRS) Project Specialist works independently under the general direction of the project leads to provide administrative activities to support the Common Human Resources System (CHRS) project. Performs administrative work, responsible for the full scope of project support activities including initiation, executive, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of tasks assigned. Responsibilities include but not limited to document processes and procedures, assists in drafting user guides, assists with PowerPoint presentations, proofreads documents and provides input, takes meeting minutes, schedule and coordinates meetings and events. Fielding inquiries related to the CHRS project. The individual assists with analyzing data fields, workflows and provides input on process improvement. Provides feedback and recommendations on the CHRS project.

The CHRS Project Specialist may interact with individuals at various levels within the campus community as well as project teams from other CSU campuses. This position must exercise good judgment and discretion pertaining to sensitive and confidential information. The Common Human Resources (CHRS) project is a CSU system-wide implementation of Oracle PeopleSoft 9.0 to 9.2 Human Capital Management system. The modules included in this project are Workforce Administration (including CSU Temporary Faculty Module), Absence Management/Time and Labor, Recruiting, Labor Cost Distribution, Benefits, and Security. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to effectively write and present own reports. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and system. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist. Ability to understand problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas. Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
