Position Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is responsible for administration of the extramural research grants and contracts. RSP currently manages an open portfolio of over $4 Billion with annual awards over $1 Billion. This web systems developer position will assist in the management of the University's sponsored programs by developing web-based programs and tools for streamlining research administration. This position is on the Electronic Research Administration (eRA) team and helps support RSP staff, department administrators, researchers and faculty across campus by developing web-based programs and tools to streamline research administration.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field. Consideration will be given to candidates with a degree in another field who have relevant work experience.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
One year of database-driven, web application development is required. Successful candidates must be technology agnostic and willing to work with:
- Application development technologies such as ColdFusion, ASP .NET, PERL, and PeopleSoft;
- Integration technologies such as XML, JSON, and Web Services;
- Relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server) and related technologies (SQL and PL/SQL);
- Relevant web technologies including HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript;
- Source/version control using Git;

Highly Desired: 3-5 years' experience working in a sponsored programs office, sponsored programs accounting. Knowledge of PeopleSoft Grants and related functionality.

The successful applicant will demonstrate an independent work initiative, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, diplomacy and a professional demeanor.

Additional Information:
A successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment. University sponsorship is not available for this position.
