Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC), is comprised of Bates College, Bryn Mawr College, College of Wooster, Colorado College, Grinnell College, Haverford College, and Vassar College. Reporting to the Executive Director of SLAC, the Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and employer outreach support to SLAC.

The main responsibility is to support the annual recruiting days held in various cities and several virtual events organized by the Consortium schools. Every year, there are 100-125 employers who attend the recruiting days in New York or Washington, DC or participate in a virtual event. (Events used to be held in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco and may be added back in the near future). The Recruiting Coordinator is a part-time, 20 hour/week position and will not be eligible for any Vassar benefits. This is a remote position and the anticipated start date is June, 2019 and the anticipated end date is June 30, 2020 with the possibility of renewal/extension depending on the needs of the Consortium.

The responsibilities of the Recruiting Coordinator and those responsibilities being retained by the Consortium schools are as follows:

Employer Contact
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Consortium with employers;
  • Maintain employer relationships by performing the following functions:
  • Send out invitations;
  • Organize employer information and maintain online job posting system and assist with Consortium website;
  • Support schools with employer development and assist with securing new employers;
  • Provide information to interested employers and be the primary contact with employers once they register for events;
  • Provide timely responses to employer emails, phone calls including incoming and outgoing calls and queries;
  • Post job descriptions and schedules for interviews as needed;
  • Provide follow-up activities and detailed reports after the event.

Financial
  • Keep accurate record of expenditures;
  • Maintain the budget and keep Executive and Financial Directors informed. Help to develop annual budget;
  • Follow up with employers to receive payments;
  • Maintain Consortium accounts and PayPal, along with Financial Director.

Other
  • Along with Executive Director, serve as liaison between students, colleges and employers;
  • Along with the Executive Director, provide ongoing support and advice to City Directors;
  • Travel to, attend and work recruiting day events;
  • Assist with other marketing activities;
  • Review and update the promotional brochures for students and employers with assistance of the Consortium;
  • Assist Executive Director as needed;
  • Update Consortium Recruiting Day Manual with Executive Director;
  • Generate annual reports (application, interviews, recruiting day, placement) and create new reports as needed;
  • Maintain Consortium website, updating dates, posting events, and linking documents;
  • Assist with preparation of materials for Consortium Annual Meeting;
  • Other responsibilities and projects as needed (i.e. locating grant sources, assistance on new projects and Consortium initiatives).


Qualifications
Qualifications Bachelor of Arts/Science, Preferably in a Liberal Arts Discipline; Two years of administrative responsibility preferred; Excellent organization and computer skills. This includes the ability to use a Mac OS, Microsoft Excel and Word, perform data entry and familiarity with Wordpress and online recruiting systems preferred.) Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations; Detail oriented with excellent follow-through; Ability to work independently and as a team player; Must be able to move and position objects weighing up to 20 pounds; Travel required. This includes the ability to travel to Poughkeepsie, NY for orientation and periodic training. New York State residency required.
