The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Human Resources Technician in the HR Systems unit in Human Resources, located at the District Office. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications:
Current experience with a complex HRIS system; actively involved in data input, reporting, review, and analysis. Working knowledge of systems enhancements, programming, and upgrading, based on departmental, institutional and State or other regulatory requirements. Ability to provide consultative and technical assistance in the resolution of database system issues. Experience conducting research and analysis of a paraprofessional nature related to State and Federal mandated reporting such as MIS,IPEDS and Affordable Care Act. Knowledge of set up and maintenance of database system tables and database tracking systems desired. Experienced Excel user and knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.2 system or similar database preferred.Knowledge of: Human Resources policies, practices and procedures in the assigned area. Technical aspects of the field of specialty HRIS. Oral and written communications skills. Microcomputer and mainframe computer operations and platforms and business related software including spreadsheets, database management, and word processing,Skills and Abilities: Perform a wide variety of difficult, specialized, and complex technical human resources work in the area assigned HR Systems. Advanced statistical research and reporting techniques. Analyze situations, gather data accurately and adopt an effective course of action; drawing logical conclusions, and making appropriate recommendations. Plan and organize work. Work confidentially and independently with discretion.Training and Experience: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: one year of college with special course work in business administration or human resources management or a related field and two years complex technical experience in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

Pay Information:
Range 23 ($3,717.84 $5,934.51) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule.

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
