Under the general direction of the Associate Vice-President for Research Administration, the Senior Research Accountant manages and administers the post-award administrative needs of the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL), which is a public/private consortium of a diverse set of member organizations, including industry, academia, non-profit organizations, state governments, and federal agencies, headquartered at the University of Delaware. NIIMBL is a member of the Manufacturing USA network of institutes funded by the federal government to advance United States competitiveness in advanced manufacturing innovation. NIIMBL is established by a cooperative agreement with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The Senior Research Accountant represents the University's Research Office to ensure compliance with governing federal, state, sponsor, and University requirements and generally accepted accounting principles.

This position serves as a key resource providing guidance, oversight and support to NIIMBL on overall financial management of the sponsored program. A significant component of this position's responsibility is the management of the NIIMBL Subrecipient Financial Monitoring Plan. NIIMBL's multi-million dollar portfolio of projects includes more than 150 project participants across more than 40 funded projects. The incumbent is expected to foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders and exhibit a strong commitment to customer service and excellence.
