The William (Bill) A. Anderson Fund (BAF) is a national initiative to increase the participation and success of historically underrepresented students pursuing hazards and disaster science and practice. The University of Delaware entered an agreement to become the Flagship institute for the BAF. Under the general direction of the Director of the BAF and in coordination with the Directors of the Disaster Research Center and the Business Administrator for DRC, the Program Coordinator plans and manages logistics for all BAF events; engages in marketing and communication with the public, faculty mentors, advisory members, and Fellows; coordinates with the BAF student council; assists in the identification of funding sources; assists in program evaluation; serves as liaison between the BAF, DRC, and the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) business office regarding sponsored projects and philanthropic activities with responsibility for relevant policy applications and interpretation; assists in policy development; assists in the submission of grant proposals to funding organizations or agencies; assists with financial administration of grants post-award through close-out; analyzes, interprets and recommends administrative practices and procedures; manages the administrative functions and fiscal affairs of the unit; and monitors and reviews all BAF account expenditures.
