Position Summary:
Enterprise Integration, within DoIT's Application Infrastructure Services (AIS) department, provides enterprise-scale software engineering, integration services, and consultation for campus-wide services provided by DoIT. The work we do is varied and challenging, so you will need the tenacity to take on development projects that benefit students, faculty, and staff at UW-Madison and beyond. You'll have an opportunity to learn while you work as part of a team to help customers to design, build, and deploy applications with a focus on enterprise data interoperability and working closely with our Identity and Access management group.

The Developer position requires teamwork, versatility with technology, and a passion for building lean, quality software. You should have knowledge of modern techniques in object-oriented and functional programming as well as experience with modern frameworks, libraries, tool sets, and development practices (continuous integration and delivery, version control, automated testing, etc.). We value collaborating with teammates to deliver and maintain high quality, efficient, and robust applications. You'll need exceptional communication and customer service skills as you will work alongside clients, project managers, and other developers.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 1 year experience developing with Java, Groovy, or other JVM languages.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g. git).
* Demonstrated desire to learn new things.
* Excellent customer service skills and orientation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Flexibility in development frameworks, languages, and other tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Agile methodologies.
* Experience with developing web services (i.e. REST).
* Experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
* DevOps competencies, including containerization, monitoring, and/or automation.
* Experience with Linux administration, database administration, or AWS hosting (or other cloud platforms).
* Experience with single page applications.
