Description
This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill district-wide, current and upcoming, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed one year. The immediate vacancy is a 12-month, 100% position located at the District Administrative Center in Camarillo, CA.

Under the general supervision of an administrator, design, publish, monitor, and update new and existing web pages for each college campus and the District Administrative Center; maintain accuracy of information posted, and ensure web pages contain content appropriate for effective use by students, staff, and the public.

Representative Duties
Design, publish, monitor, and update new and existing web pages for various District departments; program Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Templates, scripting languages (e.g. Javascript, PHP, Python), Frameworks, and other current code and scripts for web site applications. E

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade web servers and related software applications; perform troubleshooting and provide technical support for web applications. E

Develop and analyze website analytics; produce routine and special analytics reports upon request. E

Coordinate with graphic designers, administrators, and department supervisors to design, prepare, schedule, and post web page documents, images, and other communication materials for promotion of District departments and programs. E

Interview end users to determine business process requirements and assess web usability; consult with academic and administrative departments to identify web technologies most suited to meet their business needs. E

Research and evaluate new standards, technology, and trends regarding web page design and maintenance. E

Ensure functionality, integrity, and security of web pages and site applications; maintain an appealing flow of uniformity through the development and integration of new web pages, search engines, and other applications; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. E

Provide individual and formal group training to District staff in the use of web site development programs and other applicable software applications. E

Design, produce, edit, and integrate graphics and written content for website and other electronic communication. E

Support system upgrades and updates as required, including, but not limited to, loading of upgrade software, system backups, and application operations and report testing. E

Configure, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain computer software, hardware, and related equipment in a variety of settings to ensure efficient operation and prevent service interruptions, as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

E = Essential duties
Minimum Qualifications
An associate degree from a recognized college or university in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field AND two years of experience designing and maintaining websites.

OR

A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field AND one year of experience designing and maintaining websites.

Supplemental Information
EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:
This is an examination open to the public and current district employees seeking a promotional opportunity. To ensure consideration, please submit your application materials by April 28, 2019.

The examination process will consist of any of the following components:

A) Performance Test = Qualifying (pass/fail)
B) Technical Interview = 100% weighting on final score

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications stated by the filing deadline in order to move forward in the testing process. Those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to the performance test. The nine (9) candidates with the highest passing scores the performance test will be invited to the technical interview. The examination process is subject to change as needs dictate. All communication regarding this process will be delivered via email.

ELIGIBILITY LIST:
Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will be compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list. Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill current vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technical interview.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
All appointments made from eligibility lists for initial appointment or for promotion shall be probationary for a period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) days of paid service, whichever is longer.
