Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds routinely and operate material handling equipment.
  • Operate a delivery truck, forklift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Legible handwriting preferred.


Job Purpose:
Assists in ordering materials. Tracks materials and assists in scheduling service requests. Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move within the storage facility. Has knowledge of commonly-used practices, and procedures within a particular field to include all areas of distribution, warehouse, surplus, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive and deliver all campus packages coming into the facility
  • Process package through WTS tracking system
  • Create or enter information into Asset Works system
  • Coordination, pick up, and deliver surplus items
  • Create or update surplus information using the AssetWorks Management database
  • Loads and unloads material as needed
  • Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment
  • Answer telephone questions, and assist customers if any issues arise

    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
    • Able to deal with multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
    • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
    • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
    • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
    • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
    Funding for this position is based on revenue generated funds and therefore continued employment is based on availability of these funds
