Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience working with data from Ellucian Banner information system data, ETL
- Ability to develop system modifications in a variety of products such as SAS, and SQL to support the application
- Ability to develop and enhance existing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process as the source for data warehouse tables
- Ability to work in a changing environment as new tools become available and underlying technologies evolve and change
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of data sources, database, design, and development logic and constructs, especially as related to data warehouse technology
- Advanced knowledge of database management systems
- Advanced skill in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) for data retrieval, data manipulation, and the creation and modification of database objects
- Experience with data modeling and architecture
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, information technology, or a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Five (5) years of experience in data integration, SQL programming, database management or development; or equivalent combination of education and experience with Three (3) years of work experience in database systems (Oracle or MS SQL Server)
- Demonstrate a strong background in data warehouse design and implementation
- Agile experience
- Exposure and deep understanding of conceptual, Logical and Physical model is a Must
- Experience in querying and analyzing data using SQL
- Experience with data modeling and architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or management information systems
Five (5) years of work experience in an institutional research, or enrollment management office
Job Purpose:
The Data Warehouse Analyst is responsible for translating business requirements into the appropriate data models that integrate with the overall logical data warehouse. This individual will work closely with senior members of the IR team to define, document, and apply business rules to enterprise data, and will participate in the design and development of ETL standards, policies, procedures, and metadata to ensure accuracy, quality, integrity, and optimization of this information.
