Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of retail and/or merchandise buying experience
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with event setup and sales
  • Previous food service experience


Job Purpose:
Provides hands-on front-line leadership within Retail Services. Acts as the key buyer, maintains vendor relationships, orders products and maintains inventory levels for all convenience stores and concessions events, including a presence in the Kennesaw, Marietta, and KSU Center bookstore locations. Oversees concessions operations for sporting events, graduation, and other special events at the Convocation Center, Bobbie Bailey Athletic Complex, and the Stillwell Baseball Stadium. Assists with the supervision, hiring, and training of assigned student staff.

Key Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages the selection and ordering of convenience and concession merchandise
  • Establishes and monitors product pricing and margins including mark-downs and clearance
  • Assist with in-store merchandising and planograms
  • Analyze sales trends to maximize sales while minimizing losses
  • Orders and maintains appropriate stock levels for assigned areas and assists with periodic and year-end inventory processes
  • Oversees merchandise receiving and proper invoice handling
  • Maintains current event schedule for multiple venues
  • Assists with hiring and training of assigned student staff
  • Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing levels at concessions events
  • Develops loss prevention plan for event locations and merchandise transportation
  • Maintains all location related equipment is clean and in working order
  • Coordinates transportation needs for concessions events
  • Creates event logistics plans for efficient setup, breakdown and clean-up at each venue
  • Updates, maintains and enforces food handling procedures for convenience stores and concessions
  • Act as The Market manager on duty as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of proper cash handling and inventory control procedures
  • Experience with event setup and sales
  • Food service experience a plus
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Excel
  • Able to manage multiple tasks or projects at one time
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Strong Attention to detail and strong organizational and follow up skills
  • Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette
