WLS-ILIAD COORDINATOR - ADRC


Position Summary:
The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) conducts research in the field of aging and dementia, and seeks to establish prevention, treatment and diagnostic tests for Alzheimer's disease. The successful candidate will assist the Principal Investigators (PIs) and the clinical research team with the operations of the "Wisconsin Longitudinal Study - Initial Lifetime's Impact on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias" (WLS-ILIAD) study, under the guidelines of research protocols and UW Madison policies. This involves participating in the administration and management of study participants enrolled in this investigator-initiated trial. This position will work within the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center as a study coordinator, acting as liaison with the staff from the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study as well as the University of Wisconsin Survey Center to ensure the continuation and cohesion of participant visits under the WLS-ILIAD protocol.

The WLS-ILIAD protocol has three phases of study participation. The incumbent will be coordinate one of the three phases of participation, which will occur within the Wisconsin ADRC. This position will work collaboratively within the Wisconsin ADRC infrastructure, but also alongside the WLS team and Wisconsin Survey Center who are key partners in the conduct of this study.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's Degree required. Health care or biological sciences areas preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Two or more years of experience in a health care or research setting preferred. Prior experience in clinical research setting highly desired. Experience with project management and IRB work also desired.

Title prefix determined based on candidates years of relevant professional work experience.

The incumbent will be expected to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job, and maintain a high level of professionalism and collegiality in interactions with participants, patients, and team members.

The applicant's prior work experience should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail, sound clinical judgement, good social skills, and ability to multi-task. Strong analytical skills preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in written and verbal forms with research sponsors, participants, faculty, researchers and staff at all levels required. Excellent problem solving, organizational and computer skills required. Knowledge of University administrative policies and procedures as well as federal human subjects protection regulations highly desirable.
