Position Summary:
The Assistant Director is a critical, non-clinical leader in the Student Affairs team's efforts to address and support the ongoing needs of students of concern, and to promote their personal and academic success. The Assistant Director's 2 primary foci are oversight and management of the College's case management systems and processes, and a personal caseload of students of concern. They effectively collaborate and consult with students, faculty, staff, parents/families, and community partners to facilitate student access to, and appropriate utilization of, College and community resources and services. The Assistant Directior chairs the Care Team, manages the Advocate Care Module, and reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Students. This is a 12-month, exempt, benefits eligible position.

Essential Functions:
Offer is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

*Serve as the Colleges primary point person on case management for students of concern, including intake/triage, referrals, and intervention planning, tracking and follow-up
*Collaborate with academic partners, staff colleagues, off campus service providers, families and other stakeholders in supporting students of concern
*Serve as critical frontline risk manager around students of concern
*Participate in the development and refinement of case management policies and procedures
*Manage ongoing development, refinement and monitoring of a comprehensive student case management system that ensures sound intervention and response planning, tracking, and follow-through
*Establish and maintain positive working relationships with members of the Threat Assessment and Management Team, Center for Teaching, Learning and Research, Student Accessibility Services, The Parton Center for Health and Wellness, and the offices of Health and Wellness Education, Community Standards, and Residential Life
*Provide management and oversight of records pertaining to students of concern; ensure that records and data are maintained in accordance with College policies and federal and state regulations
*Maintain accurate, timely and complete records around students of concern in the Advocate CARE module
*Develop a broad and detailed understanding of all aspects of the student experience, as well as the support services available on and off campus, in order to serve as a highly informed and collaborative resource for students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding student success
*Identify, monitor and report on key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the Colleges case management systems and processes
*Serve as the Chair of CARE team and monitor follow-up interventions and referrals as necessary
*Maintain a direct caseload of students, and collaborate with other campus partners in the identification, triage and support of other students of concern
*Manage, in collaboration with Commons/Class Deans, leaves of absence and returns
*Collaborate with the office on Residential Life on emergency response training for residential life staff
*Serve as a key member of the Summer Student Affairs team, including Language School support

Qualifcation
Education:

Masters degree in counseling, social work, student affairs, or related field required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated knowledge of case management systems and best practices
*Ability to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively
*Current knowledge and experience applying best practices and appropriate legal/procedural regulations related to addressing students of concern
*Demonstrated knowledge of college student development theory
*Experience handling confidential and sensitive information and situations
*Working knowledge of case management software (Advocate) and Banner operating system preferred

Experience:
Minimum of three years full-time experience in case management, care / behavioral intervention teams, or related fields, with strong preference for experience in these areas in higher education contexts
