Job Summary:
Under the limited progressing to general supervision of the Building/Grounds Superintendent, operate a refuse vehicle with 62,000 G.V.W. Follow environmental and governmental laws on what can/cannot be landfilled. Perform daily operator maintenance on the vehicle per C.D.L. requirements. Serve as lead worker for laborers and replacement help, assist in loading of refuse and must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions. Substitute operator of various pieces of equipment. This position requires a high degree of driving skills and safety consciousness due to the high concentration of pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic.

Requirements:
Commercial Driver's License With Air Brake Endorsement

Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement, a motor vehicle record that meets UW Risk Management standards, and ability to drive State of Wisconsin owned vehicles.

In the event you are required to work in or around animal facilities, you will be enrolled in the appropriate medical surveillance program.

Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) will require Post-Offer Pre-Employment screenings on all selected candidates.

This position may occasionally be asked to work hours in excess of the normal work shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
