California State University, Dominguez Hills, was established in 1960 and is one of the 23 campuses that comprise The California State University system. CSU Dominguez Hills is an urban, comprehensive public university that serves a culturally rich, diverse student body of over 12,500 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Located on a 346-acre site in the South Bay portion of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, CSU Dominguez Hills has a highly pluralistic student body, which includes a significant number of non-traditional, working adult students as well as approximately 2,000 students enrolled in distance learning programs statewide. The University, with its five Academic Colleges, has more than 300 full-time faculty members and is situated in an area characterized by an extraordinary heterogeneity of people, and an extensive array of high technology industries and professional services.

Position Information:
This is a full-time, permanent (probationary) position.

Department: Information Technology

The Information Technology Division is responsible for providing leadership and support in information technology for the entire CSU Dominguez Hills community. The Division promotes IT solutions that improve the teaching, learning, research, and administrative environment of the University. The CITO provides overall management of the IT Department. Four groups comprise the Department of Information Technology: Infrastructure Services Department consists of telephone services, network services, server operations and administration. The Project Management group consists of desktop support, help desk and training. The Enterprise Application group consists of development, web services and student information services. The Academic Technology Department consists of classroom technical support, instructional design, instructional lab and media support.

Major Job Duties:
Under general supervision of the Manager for Instructional Media & Design, the COE
Technology and Instructional Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, support
and train faculty and staff with materials, services and tools for online, hybrid and
web-enhanced courses in addition to utilizing these products to improve efficiencies within
departments. In addition the Analyst will work with staff to support programs and departments with technology and instructional needs encompassing external databases, web support and may include technical support for COE programs such as; Task Stream, Target Success, Zoom, Fluid Review. The COE Analyst will develop, support and train faculty staff on new programs.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
- Current and emerging teaching and learning pedagogies and modalities used in higher education, including online, blended, and flipped instruction.
- The incumbent should have an in-depth knowledge of Apple hardware, software, and applications (examples: Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, iMac, MacBook Air, OS X's, and iOS's), Windows software, and applications (examples: XP/Vista/Windows 7, Windows 10), and other devices.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.), Microsoft Forefront Anti-Virus, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
- General knowledge of network connectivity, integration, configuration, and protocols (TCP/IP).
- Knowledge of wired and wireless based local area networks.
- General knowledge of mobile device management products.
- Applicable university infrastructure, policies and procedures
- Proper customer service technique
- PeopleSoft, Target Success, Task Stream, Fluid Review, Leaning Management System (i.e. Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, etc.)
- Technical aptitude, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and competencies related to professional development practices
- Market planning, analysis, and administration

Ability to:
- Ability to convey information of a technical nature in an understandable manner to a diverse user community.
- Ability to answer basic technical questions and solve problems quickly.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnoses, and solve common user hardware problems.
- Ability to install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and use Windows and Apple applications and operating system software.
- Ability to troubleshoot network and email client connectivity problems.

Experience and Education:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.

Required Experience: At least two (2) years working experience as an information technology assistant or in a customer service environment supporting different platform computers hardware and software. The incumbent should be highly skilled at customer service through phone and service desk support. Experience with technical information systems and application program packages is a prerequisite.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this classification is: $4,372 - $10,478 monthly.
