Job Summary:
This position serves as the primary executive administrative support person for the Department Chair, the Department Administrator, and the Sr. Project Manager in the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM), University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health (UW SMPH). The department is composed of 50+ faculty physicians, 36 resident physicians, 24+ advanced practice providers, and a growing number of staff members.

This individual will aid key leaders in the successful implementation and performance of departmental clinical, teaching, administrative, and research activities. Although the individual will receive general guidance, he/she is expected to independently develop and maintain activities and to exercise autonomous decision-making. Responsibilities include continuous tracking, prioritization, organization, scheduling, and communication of multiple ongoing initiatives at various stages of progress, as well as interfacing with internal and external physicians and administrators. By the nature and location of this position, the individual is privy to confidential records and conversations that directly affect the employer-employee relationship referred to in s.III.81(15) Wisc. Stats.

The position requires outstanding administrative, interpersonal, and computer skills, as well as meticulous organizational skills. The individual must be able to work proactively and independently. This position functions under limited supervision, reporting directly to the Sr. Project Manager.

Additional Requirements:
- 1-2 years of administrative or program support required.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent command of spoken and written English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation is required.
- Experience managing complex calendars preferred.
- No degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Schedule Comment:
Typical office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Schedule flexible to the meet the needs of the Department.
