JOB SUMMARY:

Provide clinical counseling to students; as well as group, parent and family counseling; serve as member of an assessment team and recruiting team. This position follows the academic calendar.

REPORTS TO: Program Director

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Provide therapeutic and supportive counseling to students.
  2. Provide life/organizational coaching as needed.
  3. Conduct individual, group and family therapy.
  4. Assess social and emotional issues.
  5. Conduct student-counseling groups as assigned.
  6. Conduct parent groups as assigned.
  7. Provide family intervention as needed.
  8. Prepare assessment and prescriptive reports.
  9. Consult with educators, Director and clinical supervisor on student issues.
  10. Attend meetings with parents.
  11. Provide information for prospective students and parents.
  12. Interview candidates.
  13. Attend recruiting events.
  14. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Excellent clinical social work skills.
  2. Knowledge of adolescent and young adult issues.
  3. Knowledge of learning disabilities and AD/HD.
  4. Knowledge of students with executive functioning delays.
  5. Ability to relate to and engage young adults and their families.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Good computer skills for using Administrative System, Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs/Mail.
  8. Strong ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
  9. Strong ability to prioritize workload according to urgency, volume, etc.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master of Social Work (LCSW required) or Licensed Masters Level Mental Health Practitioner, plus minimum 1-3 years job-related experience.
  2. Experience with learning disabilities, adolescents/young adults preferred.
